Strategy that works – How to Validate Strategic Choices
Companies tend to invest significant time and resources in crafting strategies, yet struggle to turn them into reality. The path from strategy to execution is often long, riddled with pitfalls, and clouded by uncertainty. But what if you could test your strategy before rolling it out – to discover what truly works, what needs adjustment, and how to engage your organization effectively?
In this breakfast seminar, you’ll learn a practical approach to testing strategic decisions before committing to costly implementation. We’ll show you how strategy testing can help reduce risk, prevent expensive mistakes, and ensure your strategy becomes more than just polished words on a PowerPoint slide. Drawing on Roger Martin’s acclaimed framework for strategy testing, combined with our expertise working with leading Nordic companies, you’ll learn:
- How to spot critical assumptions and barriers in your strategy
- How to test strategic hypotheses – both internally and externally
- How to structure and scale the testing process
- Tools to test and involve the organization early – ensuring the strategy is understood and prioritized
- How to use test results to adjust and strengthen the strategy before going all-in
Who is this for:
- Strategy leads and business developers
- Leaders responsible for strategic execution
- Innovation and product managers
- Specialists working on strategic initiatives
When: Feb 27th, 9.00-10.00 - Doors open at 8.30.
Location: Torggata 11, 0181 Oslo
PS: The breakfast seminar will be held in Norwegian.
Who is hosting this?
Reodor is an innovation studio that collaborates with leading Norwegian companies to drive growth—either by exploring new business opportunities or improving existing products and services. The company consists of several former entrepreneurs who challenge traditional approaches to innovation. Their focus is on reducing risk through short projects, clear deliverables, and always obtaining tangible data to determine whether an opportunity is worth pursuing. This approach has quickly led them to work with companies such as DNB, Gjensidige, DNV, Aker Biomarine, Storebrand, Fortum, and Schibsted.
Hallgeir Knutsen is the co-founder of Reodor and an entrepreneur with 25 years of experience across multiple startups. At an early age, he built a music magazine and community in Norway and Sweden, which was later sold to Nöjesguiden. Before founding Reodor, he lived in New York, where he established New York Digital Labs, designing and building digital solutions for both major American brands and Norwegian startups. He has also been involved in founding several other startups and has spent the majority of his career executing early-stage innovation.
Vemund Rudshagen is a Strategic Advisor at Reodor Studios with over 10 years of experience in business consulting and startups. His work spans business development, from executive-level strategy to designing tactical coordination mechanisms, giving him a solid understanding of how good (and not-so-good) strategy impacts an organization and its people. With an MSc in Strategy and Management from the Norwegian School of Economics and hands-on experience in strategic and business model development, he strongly believes that more companies should view strategy as both practical and theoretical, combining structured problem-solving with creativity. He also sees widespread misconceptions about what truly constitutes good strategic work.
